Hottie Hot Pad Written Crochet Pattern for Beginners

This is a written crochet pattern for my thick and easy crochet hot pads/potholders, which provide fantastic heat protection! The pattern will be easier for beginners who are at least familiar with crocheting in rows. This pattern is written for beginners, so I have included detailed instructions, a video tutorial demonstrating each step, AND a Stitch Guide for all the stitches you need to know that you can print and save for later. The pattern is organized in a print friendly way, so that you can print only the sections that you need. 

Stitches Used:
You will learn the Thermal Half Double Crochet stitch for these hot pads. (If you know the regular hdc already, you're half way there!) You'll also learn a half double crochet slip stitch. 

Yarn and Hook: Grab your favorite cotton yarn and the hook size that's on the pkg or go with Bernat Handicrafter Cotton/Lily Sugar 'n Cream and a size H hook.
